Watching TV is getting to be a painful experience.There are a lot of advertisements on TV today, it appears as though you are seeing as many ads as you are seeing minutes of TV programming content. This seems to be especially true on the channels that broadcast films.
These days, it makes much greater sense to buy TV shows on DVD. When I was a teen, the 1st commercial in an hour long television show would come after twenty minutes had past. Now it appears like you get six minutes of TV followed by three to 6 minutes of ads. If, like me, you don't possess a TiVo, DVR, or other recording tool, you may even give up on television. 1. No Ads. By watching your favorite TV shows on DVD, you can easily skip all the commercials. By not having to go around singing bad TV commercials all the time is worth the price!
2. Engagement. Having to pause for an entire 7 days to catch up with your favorite characters can be frustrating. And worse than that, having to wait between season breaks can cause you to forget the plot, or cause you to not recall lesser details. If you buy the shows, you can watch them at your convenience, as little or as much as you want at the time.
3. Added Extras. Nearly all of the boxed series present additional features in the form of deleted scenes or interviews with the director or various actors. For those of you who can't get enough of your much loved characters, this is a nice additional benefit. You get to see alternative endings that were being considered. You get to see deleted scenes that were originally going to be part of the subject matter, but ultimately went to the editing room floor as a result of any of a range of constraints. These limitations are typically that the TV show and or motion picture was going to be too lengthy, or that the content was determined to be redundant and eliminating it would not negatively influence the audience's ability to follow the story line.
After you buy TV shows on DVD, it also allows you have the opportunity to dive in and engross yourself into the story line without being interrupted by having to hang around until the subsequent week's episode or to have a series of television ads interrupt your viewing experience. It is a a lot more pleasing way of watching TV.
