Should you be worried about your kids accessing free online games sites?
There appear to be hundreds of free web based games available.
Are they safe? I have researched many free games sites and they all appear to follow the code of no adult games and no questionable content. There are exceptions of course as with any website, but I think most hosting providers include this in their hosting policy so it is monitored fairly well. However due to the ever changing face of the Internet it can never be 100 per cent so you should monitor where your kids have been going and what they are doing on the Net to be sure. There is also restriction software you can purchase or you can adjust the settings in your browser to exclude adult content. The best way to monitor your kids usage though is for your children not to have access to the Internet in their rooms and have the computer in the lounge or somewhere where you can monitor the screen by just walking past or glancing around from time to time and check what they are actually up to.
Do these free online games sites install stuff on my computer?
No. That’s the beauty of online games. They run in Flash or Java so there is no need to download any software and run an installer… and then the uninstaller if you find you don’t like it. You just click on a game you fancy, it downloads the code in your browser and starts the game (all with one click). As soon as you close the window or click another games its gone. No mess, no filling up your hard drive. Couldn’t be better.
Links to questionable sites or content?
Most games sites it seems obey the rules and I think it unlikely you will find one with R18 links unless it’s clearly labelled as such or is in their terms and conditions or otherwise referred to on the main page.

The best way to make sure the site is safe for your kids is to check it out yourself first. Hey you might even have a little fun and find a game you really like while doing so.
