Our Family Vacation Was Quite the Event
It had been quite a few years since my family and I have taken a holiday, especially due to tightening our belts like so many other people are doing because of the economy. My only nephew asked his girlfriend to marry him and that is's all it took! We found out the day the wedding was going to be held, my husband and I both had vacation time coming from work so we decided to make the trip and make it a holiday as well. Before we knew it, it was time to get packed and load everything up and hit the road.
This was no little trip. Almost 1200 miles back to my home town in IL so there was lots of time on the road. Sadly not all of our problems got left behind at home. After a couple of hours of sitting and driving the first day I had began sensed some lower abdominal pain. Being completely truthful I really thought it was a combination of nerves, excitement and just sitting for too long. But by the end of our first day the pain had become more intense. When we finally stopped for the evening I attempted to lie down and stretch out some, praying that it might get better, but there wasn't any change. It became so bad I though we might have to go to a nearest ER. I decided to try to get a good nights rest and make the choice in the morning. Before going to bed I called my mother to let her where we were at and what was going on with me. After describing the symptoms I was having and Mom told me she had the same symptoms when she was having issues with ovarian cysts. She additionally told me about some of the different treatment of ovarian cysts and how this one natural remedy worked best for her. So I made the decision to go to the emergency room that night, simply to ensure what was taking place.
I am sure each and every one of you have experienced visiting the emergency room at one point in your life or another. Well, the one we went to was exceptionally full. Let me tell you, agony or no discomfort, waiting in a room full of sick and hurt people was not a excellent atmosphere. The combination of all these factors truly irritated my anxiety. As time passed with people coming out and in constantly, waiting to be called while experiencing a large amount of discomfort it was eventually enough and I began experiencing a panic attack. All I wanted to do was leave there, agony or no agony. I must admit, if it wasn't for the support my husband had given me, in addition to the skills I learned about overcoming panic attacks I truly think I would have left. Eight hours later I walked out feeling slightly better as far as the agony. The anxiety and panic had gotten better and the ultrasound confirmed that I had an ovarian cyst. There wasn't any cause for concern though I recieved a prescription for agony if needed, some guidelines on things to steer clear of and told to check in with my GP when we got back home.
We made it up to Chicago and during the next few days the agony passed. I continued experiencing a little anxiety, but it was more likely excitement about what precisely was happening. Actually one evening we all met up and went out to eat at one of our favorite restaurants. This is the kind of food you just can't find in the south where we live, so we all did quite a bit over eating during that evening. My husband went slightly more overboard then he should have. I could tell as he mentioned that he required one of his remedies for heartburn before we even got back to our room. We giggled at it, but the rest of the evening he was in some pain due to his acid reflux and heartburn.
All in all it really was a excellent time. The wedding was beautiful and went off without a glitch. It was a evening to remember. Essentially the whole vacation was one to remember. We started off a little shaky but the time was spent well encircled by family and friends that we had not seen in several years. That was one of the most enjoyable vacations the my family and I took in ages.
